VIETNAM In 1999, I got the chance to go to Vietnam and meet the side of my family I'd never met before. The trip started off with a couple days in the San Francisco area, and then a really long flight on China Airlines to Vietnam, where I stayed the next two weeks. Pretty darn interesting. JAPAN In 1998, I stayed for five months in Osaka, Japan as an international exchange student. To keep my friends, my family, and myself informed about what I was doing at the time, I wrote somewhat periodic e-mails to my friends back home.
