I've had fairly good luck with the cars I've owned throughout the years. I do want to stress the term "fairly" though... meaning that it probably could've been better.

Started off with a '63 VW Beetle with extensive Baja modifications - I'm not sure if the car had been driven in the Baja or anything, but it had the engine hanging out the back like it had, and a full rollcage on the inside. Deathtrap or not, I /wasn't/ gonna get hurt in this car. I had to spend every other weekend fixing something or other on it, but it was a good learning experience for me. I decided to quit learning when it blew a sparkplug out of the engine though.

I got an '87 Sentra next. It looked sharp, and I absolutely loved the car. Had three accidents within nine months, of which I'd never had any accidents in any other car, before or after that (knock on wood). The final one totalled it, and I ended up with a '93 Metro. I initially didn't like the Metro much, but you really can't complain about getting 45 miles per gallon. Good little car... but it finally died a little while ago.

Big step, but I'm finally self-sufficient now, so I decided to get a new car to replace it. Hence, the blue '01 Olds Alero pictured here. As of this writing I'm only getting 17mpg so it's a bit of a step down from the Metro in gas mileage, but it's a step up in just about every other aspect. I'm hoping I don't have the same problem as I did with the Sentra, though...
