Uh... where do I start? Is this thing on?
*screeeeeechWHINE* *thump thump thump*

Ahem. My name is Andre Germain, and I'm an alcoholic.

... Hey, what's your problem?! I'm in a... huh? Oh. Sorry.

Er... let me start over. My name is Andre Germain, and if anyone asks, I'm a graphic designer. That's what the diploma says, anyways. If you want the long story, keep reading, but if not, well, why'd you come here in the first place? There's tons more fascinating sites on the web to go to.

... Anyways. I've been keenly fascinated in computers since I was five, and was introduced to the Apple ][ in kindergarten. As such, most if not all of my gradeschool years was spent taking computer-related courses of some kind. I started out learning BASIC and LOGO, and when I got to high school I moved onto Pascal. (I still haven't had a formal course in C or C++ , though I can hack my way through it if need be.) Right now, I'm fairly proficient in HTML, Perl, ColdFusion, and just about anything else that would be helpful for web design.

I'm jumping ahead of myself a bit, though. See, when I was in high school, I realized something. I don't program much. I can do it, and I can see a program through to completion, but I didn't like doing it on a day-to-day basis. So, in high school, I started seeking other options. In 7th grade, I was the layout artist for a school newsletter. I thought, hey, this is fun, so I started learning more about art and stuff. I took a drawing class in 8th grade, but that was pretty much it.

I hadn't taken any art classes in high school, though. The main thing I did do, though, was fall under the influence of a certain person named Greg Sepelak. (He's still around on the net, just do a Google search or something, I dunno.) Greg almost singlehandedly got me into anime, video games, and art, the three things that pretty much put me where I am today. After following him around by his coattails for a couple years, I got better at art without actually taking any courses, and he eventually just said, "Hey. Draw a comic for our new comic label." And I did.

To shorten a long story, I got through college with a major in graphic design, even though I wanted to major in Animation, and now, six years later, I'm back in school again for a certificate in 2D and 3D animation.

I'm currently employed as a creative designer for a software company in New Jersey. (I don't want to tell more for fear of jinxing my work life though!)
